Blacktron Spaceship

Here's another Blacktron spaceship from Shamisenfred on flickr. I love it when a builder takes multiple shots of their creations and then pastes them together like this in one photo. It lets you see all the best angles and features of the MOC without having to flip through an album.

On this ship, I particularly like the yellow accent colors spread throughout the black. It breaks up the lines on the ship and makes its features really stand out. I also love how the front opens up to access the cockpit. This is a great example of what you can do with a space themed MOC!

LEGO Microscale Castle

This microscale castle by flickr user pasukaru76 does a great job of displaying the beauty of a simple microscale model. As you know, several of my favorite LEGO models are built in microscale. This one deserves some recognition as well.

For starters, I really like the varying colors on the walls. It makes it look as though different stones were used in the castle's construction. I also really like the red roof, particularly at the peaks of the towers. The walls that extend from each tower also appear to be able to connect to any side of the towers, making this a very versatile model. With more towers and walls, you could build a sprawling medieval LEGO city!

The Assault on Tiylis LEGO Diorama

Now this is what you call a diorama! Flickr user Mark of Falworth has created this scene of a Greek battle over the city of Tiylis.

I love how the action just seems to jump right out at you! I particularly love the streams of fire being thrown down on the attackers, and how the archers are poised, ready to release their arrows.

The buildings and the ship are also full of great detail. The columns on the great white hall are simply fantastic. Great work Mark!

LEGO Semi Truck Has Some Neat Features

Flickr user Jason son has some neat car and truck models, all made from LEGO. His latest is the Scania 142 semi tractor trailer truck. For starters, this model looks great! I love how he managed to get a smooth texture on the outside of the truck with no studs on top (SNOT). You can also see how the cab tilts forward to show the engine and drivetrain underneath. There are also some compartments on the side that open up to reveal some extra chains for tying down loads or pulling other trucks out of the ditch. Overall this is a great example of what kind of vehicles can be made out of LEGO.

Superman on the TV!

This really is a cool concept! Flickr user 2 Much Caffeine posted this model on his photostream today. It's a television set with a superman minifig on top of it. The background on the TV scrolls so it looks like Superman is flying. Very neat idea, and great execution!

Ferrari goes VROOM… VROOM…

This 1:17 scale model of a FIA GT Ferrari F430 GT2 is by far the best LEGO car model I've seen lately. bricksonwheels has captured this vehicle perfectly. I love how perfectly detailed it is, and the use of custom decals is excellent!

I'm in love with this explorer rover built by tardisblue. We've already seen a model built by this Flickr user, but I think this one is even better!

I'm a big fan of the old-school "classic space" and "blacktron" looks. This is mainly classic space with the green tinted glass from the blacktron era. This model looks great, and manages to squeeze in what appears to be 7 minifigs and a retractable arm.

This fantastic vic viper spaceship was made by Flickr user tardisblue.I love the colors on this model! Most of the time, you see builders use only one or two colors. This one has three, and they go together very well. I'm also a big fan of the texture and greebling on this model. It's absolutely fantastic!

Just in case you were wondering, the most visited post here at jpBRIX is one I posted about LEGO guns over a year ago. Since the subject seems to be popular, I thought I'd share another one today.

This LEGO sniper rifle was made by fFlickr user equinox. Shown below is black sniper rifle. It looks to be slightly smaller than life-size, but still pretty big for a LEGO model. I really like the scope attached to the top. Overall, a very nice job!
